Who?
Ramble the Coppiced Path…
A public school Educator for 18 years, Kim Westra believes a person can enter an onramp of a new part of life at any time. She has this longview of learning and accomplishment, as she has completed 15 marathons afterall. One is going for longevity! You have to say-”Yes” to that moment and try THAT new thing, but then stay on the road!
Kim looks at her art as capturing the moments that may just not have come if one hadn’t taken the first step. Some Klicks may fail, but thank goodness for new fangled digitization and erasers!
Kim was a Top 10 Minnesota Educator of the Year Finalist in 2014 and each year since, helps others redefine themselves in her on-going classroom. She found her artistry passion in 2021 and claimed this identity as “Artist”, thus flicking away the imposter from her shoulder. We all can redefine our time in this universe. But then stay on the road and take the long way home!
Kim now mentors others to take steps, hop on the on-ramp and to try the new. She provides custom workshops in photography, woodland botanical walks, and visual art. Through her knowledgeable and researched workshops, she will guide you in what she knows about the photography mechanics, biology and botany, history of place, and artist technique to help you build your own new fangled redefinition. She will take you on adventures near or far as a guide and co-explorer!
Kim has been a learner too from others:
